Connecting and Sharing Parent Voices event

Positive Powerful Parents in partnership with Community Living Association in Queensland and Queenslanders with Disability Network held an event for parents with intellectual disability on May 15th at the Mercure Spring Hill Brisbane.

The event was a success with parents sharing information about Self Advocacy, the groups they are connected to and why it is important to have groups for parents to connect.

Well done Crystal, Michelle and Romeo for sharing the MC role of this event!

PPP in the USA

Romeo at the basketball watching the Utah Jazz vs the Milwaukee Bucks

As you might know Positive Powerful Parents won the judges choice award at the Focus on Ability Film Festival in 2024. The prize was 2 return flights to the USA Salt Lake City to attend the Sundance Film Festival where the Compare the Parents short film was to be played…. Unfortunately the film didn’t get played πŸ™ BUT Romeo was part of a panel discussion talking about the film and was able to share information about PPP and ways of watching the film. Also while is the USA Romeo went to the basketball and ice hockey! Romeo caught trains through Salt Lake City and was able to see a lot of the area in a short amount of time.

Well done Romeo for representing PPP so well!!
